Yo Joe!!

After burying my 96 year old aunt (that sounds morbid doesn’t it) and watching OU crumble in the fight against Nebraska this last weekend I was in much need of something fun and entertaining to do.  So I watched the new GIJOE movie (yes I did have the action figures as well growing up) It was pretty cool, especially if you were a GIJOE fan growing up as a kid.  There is one statement that General Hawk makes in the movie that stuck with me over the last couple of days: “Knowing is half the battle.”  When you give it some thought, doesn’t that apply to our walk with God and shouldn’t it permeate to those around us, who have not experienced his love and forgiveness?  What I mean is, this, journey is about knowing God and walking with Him but not just having head knowledge but rather having heart knowledge of who He is and what He has done and what He is willing to do for others.  So the next time you get discouraged in your youth ministry or just your daily journey remember its not what you know that makes the difference but its who you know!  YO JOE!

Who was your favorite GIJOE character?  I liked Zartan!
