LAUNCH 2010 – JOIN US THIS WEEKEND FOR TULSA LAUNCH 

We are really excited about the 2010 Launch experiences!!  This will be more than just your typical “Missions” themed service. We really want to equip you and your students with all the info you need to make your Speed the Light giving a more personal and exciting commitment for your student ministries.   It is our goal to give you the resources you need for the entire year, to make missions giving more than just making a pledge but to really connect with the needs of the missionary and how Speed The Light is such a valuable resource for the Oklahoma Missionary!! This is a brand new format; we will start at 10 am and be finished by 12:30 pm.  Expect all the cool interaction and video’s that you have seen at past Launches…but with a really cool twist - two new strategy sessions, one for students and one for Youth Pastors.

And did we mention it’s FREE!!

2010 Riggs Scholarship -- Tell Your Students 

Here is the important Info:

• Applications can only be accessed on the AGTrust website @ agtrust.org
• AG Students who are High School Seniors & have demonstrated leadership potential through past and present involvement in an AG church are eligible. 
• To receive the scholarship, the applicant must enroll as a full time student at an AG endorsed institution of higher learning.
• Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.7(unweighted 4.0 scale) OR an ACT score of 28/36 OR an SAT score of 1870/2400 to be considered.
• Other criteria for consideration may be found on the info sheet of the application.
• Applications must be sent to AGTrust, 1445 N. Boonville Avenue, Springfield, MO  65802 no later than February 15, 2010 to be eligible.  

GIRLS RETREAT

It is time again for Girls Only Retreat 2010 to be held February 19^th & 20^th at Crossroads Church in Oklahoma City, OK.  “Reality” will be a power-packed weekend filled with a wide variety of workshops, teachings, and fun to appeal to the different personality types of your youth group. This retreat is for girls in 6^th-12^th grades.  Elizabeth Moon and I have joined together to make this one fantastic experience for all the girls in our District!  Registration is $25 per person, which includes all sessions, giveaways and lunch served at Crossroads Church.  Registrations must be postmarked by Friday, February 5^th, 2010 to avoid a late fee.  You may download registration forms at www.oklahomayouthministries.com or call the district office at (405) 475-1100. Our speaker this year is Megan Valentine.  Megan has served for over 10 years on the front lines of youth ministry, serving on Jeanne Mayo's youth leadership team and directing over a dozen local campus clubs in Rockford, IL. She was on staff with the Rockford Master's Commission in the role of Discipleship Director from 2000-2004.  After moving to Florida in 2004 to serve as youth pastor at a new church plant, Megan saw the youth ministry grow from a handful of students to hundreds in just four years.  Megan recently came back on staff at Rockford First as a Student Ministries Director.  I am pleased to announce that Oklahoma’s own, Calli Wood, will be leading us in worship again.  Make plans to join us it will be a powerful weekend!

GIRLS RETREAT

D-Camp 2009 is looking to be a great week of growth for your students.  Our theme this year is “Serv,” with our guest speaker being Chris Mancl, from “Answering the Cries Ministries.”  Discipleship camp is divided up into two four day camps.  D-Camp One is scheduled for December 26^th through December 29^th and D-Camp Two is scheduled for December 29^th through January 1^st.  Please really begin to target those students in your groups who desire to go deeper in their relationship with the Lord and challenge them to attend Discipleship camp.  I am anticipating a time of challenge and opportunities to “Serv” the communities that surround our Turner Falls Camp Grounds! ALL CAMPER FORMS & STAFF FORMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TURNED IN TO THE OFFICE BY DECEMBER 12^TH!
